Temperatures will begin to rise again heading into the next couple of days. Heat will move in from the south along with some moisture. So not only will we see some warmer temperatures, rain and storms are possible the next several days as well.
Here is a look at temps the next couple of days.

High Temps Sunday

High Temps Monday
We’ll still see mild temps Tuesday, then drop back into the 50′s and 60′s for the rest of the week.

High Temps Saturday
Forecasting severe weather has it’s challenges since there are so many variables that to line up for the severe storms to develop. This late Friday afternoon and early evening, it looks like we will have severe storms in Indiana, but I can not guarenttee them in the WANE viewing area.
Even though most of our area is under a risk of severe storms, the best area is going to be south of Fort Wayne, and only for the late afternoon and early evening.
(Update: As I was typing up this blog post, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued for the counties south of a Defiance to Wabash line until 11PM.)
The highest chance of storms for Fort Wayne appear to be from 4PM-7PM with the biggest threat being damaging winds and hail. There is a tornado risk for Indiana and Ohio, but it will be mainly south of the WANE viewing area.
In the wake of these storms, look for a cold start Saturday with lows in the upper 30s, then upper 50s for high. Saturday may be your best outdoor day as showers and a few thunderstorms are possible for Sunday afternoon. Because of the chance of storms for Sunday, we decided to trim back the highs from near 80° to 75°. If you like the heat, just wait for Monday, which still looks very warm with highs in the lower 80s.

Weather Radio Programming Event Schedule
After a dry and fairly quiet work week, look for more active weather for Friday. Look for showers and thunderstorms for Friday with one wave possible in the morning hours and another one later in the late afternoon.
The second wave of storms in the afternoon is the one to watch as it may pack a punch. Severe storms are possible Friday afternoon as early as 2PM and as late as 7PM with the main risk being damaging winds up to 65 mph. The tornado risk is low for the area, but will will track it carefully for you.
The rest of the weekend looks fairly quiet, but there is a slight rain chance early Sunday. After that, enjoy highs approaching 80° for Sunday and the lower 80s for Monday.
If you need your weather radio programmed, or want to meet the Live Doppler 15 Fury Weather Team, come on out next week for our NOAA Weather Radio Programming Events:
- 4PM-7PM Monday, Walgreens in Fort Wayne at Jefferson and Getz
- 4PM-7PM Monday, Walgreens in Columbia City
- 4PM-7PM Monday, Walgreens in Decatur

Thursday Afternoon Forecast
How about those winds on Wednesday? We saw a peak wind gust of 45 mph at the Fort Wayne Airport and with the recent warm up, our pollen count is already very high.
Look for dry weather for Thursday, but rain does return for Friday. For Friday, rain is likely for the morning with scattered showers possible in the afternoon.
There is still a low chance of rain for Saturday, but the rest of the weekend looks dry with a big warm up for Sunday, with a high near 80°.
Our next round of rain may come Monday evening as we are tracking our next chance of severe weather. It is still a ways out there, so it is nothing to get too worried about yet.
If you need your weather radio programmed, come out and meet the Live Doppler 15 Fury Weather Team next week at local area Walgreens. Click here to get the official schedule of times and locations.

Forecast for Wednesday Afternoon
Even though the last few days have been cool, quiet and dry, look for a few showers or thunderstorms to return tonight. Don’t expect any severe weather, but look for a few thunderstorms to move through our area after midnight and to move out of the area by daybreak Wednesday.
With the weather being fairly quiet right now, now is the time to go pick up that NOAA Weather Radio at an area Walgreens. If you need help programming your radio, come on out to an area Walgreens next week to have the Live Doppler 15 Fury Weather Team program it for you. We will be at the Walgreens at Jefferson and Getz in Fort Wayne next Monday, the Columbia City Walgreens on Tuesday and the Decatur Walgreens on Wednesday. Look for us from 4PM to 7PM each day.
Wednesday afternoon looks dry and we will enjoy a high temperature of 70° for Wednesday, before more cool weather moves in for Thursday.
The roller coaster ride of temperature and rain chances continue for the next week. Look for more rain chances for Friday and Saturday with highs in the 60s, then sunshine and mid 70s for Sunday.
