A big change on the way

Nice day followed by cool air

We start the week with very nice temperatures as highs will be right around normal in the upper 70s. A much cooler air mass will move into the area from the northwest over the next several hours as highs will fall into the lower 60s. This is the coolest air in the region since May! These temperatures will be 10 to 15 degrees below normal for most of the work week. This Canadian cool front will be followed by a strong high pressure system that will reinforce the cooler air across the region. Highs will only be in the lower 60s. This cooler air will buckle the jet stream sending it south of the area through much of the week ahead.

Another shot of cool air

Even though the Autumnal Equinox is not until Saturday, October like temperatures will continue through the week and get another shot in the arm over the weekend. Another strong cool front will move in Friday and that will leave highs in the 60s over the weekend.
