Let’s Tally Up the ResultsNovember 8th, 2012 at 9:22 pm by Jonathan Conder under Weather
Now that summer is long gone, let’s tally up the results of this summer time heat! Yes, we had 6 days over 100° and 42 days over 90°. How does this compare to other years? Just click here.
In summation, this was not the year that had the most 90° days, this goes to 1983 with 50 days.
But in 2012 we did set several records to include:
- Most consecutive days over 100°: 4 days
- Most consecutive days over 90°: 22 days
- Most consecutive days over 80°: 56 days
- Hottest day ever: 106°
Needless to say, it was a hot summer and when it comes to our weather, I prescribe to the theory that mother nature is always trying to achieve equilibrium. If this summer was hot, you have to wonder if this winter is going to be extremely cold.
