Feels more like January than NovemberNovember 24th, 2012 at 9:46 pm by Jonathan Conder under Weather
The high temperature you experienced today is more typical for mid January, than late November. Now to really put this in perspective, mid January is the coldest time of the season for Fort Wayne. Too bad winter hasn’t officially started yet. I have a sneaky feeling its going to be a long one.
Can we do better in the next 24 hours? Yes and now. It will be warmer and actually by about 10 degrees, but that high of 40° on Sunday is still below average for this time of the year and it comes with a mostly cloudy sky.
The cold air that over the Great Lakes right now we be re-enforced by another weaker wave of Canadian air on Monday, lasting through at least Wednesday. Yes, 30s will last for at least the next 4 days, but at least there is light at the end of the tunnel on 40s are showing up by the end of the work week.
When it comes to snow, our weather pattern keeps us fairly dry. There is a wave of energy coming out of the Pacific Northwest, but it tracks too far to the south and it never brings the Gulf moisture for enough north for us to see any snow. Don’t expected to see any significant snow in the next week for the Fort.
