How are we doing? How has December been? How will it end?
This has really been an amazing start to the month. Above is the monthly climate summary for Fort Wayne. (At least the first 12 days). We are starting this month at an all-time record pace. The first four days were over 20 degrees above normal in the 60′s to begin December! The next 8 days have generally been slightly above normal with several days 5 to 8 degrees above normal. We only had ONE below normal day which was the 11th at 34 degrees. This does bode well for the Climate Prediction Center’s 30 day forecast (below)
Here is the 30-day outlook for December which depicts temperatures above normal. So far, so good with with this prediction.
The next 6 to 10 days don’t look any cooler. Here’s the CPC’s outlook for December 18th through 22nd. There is a 60% chance that temperatures will be above average through this period.
