Check out this time lapse from the National Weather Service. This is an animation of all severe thunderstorm warnings and tornado warnings in 2012. Based on a 30 year average, tornado alley is really from Oklahoma to Iowa, but in 2012, it appears that we saw most of the tornadoes warnings (area highlighted in red) across the Ohio River Valley.
