Is Record Heat Possible Soon?January 8th, 2013 at 9:40 pm by Jonathan Conder under Weather
It didn’t look like this yesterday, but the warm up coming for the end of the work week and the weekend is now stronger than originally expected. So, are we going to break any records with this up-coming warm-up? It will be close Friday, but we will likely break it since we are forecasting a high of 57° and the record high for Friday is 56°.
But when it comes to Saturday, I don’t think we will come close to breaking any records. The record for Saturday is 64° and we are looking at highs in the lower 50s. So when it comes to breaking any temperatures records in the next week, Friday is our day, especially after the rain moves out in the morning.
Now, if you hate winter, you really need to enjoy the 50s for Friday and Saturday. After that, we will see several, significant waves of cold air over the next 10 following days. The first arrives on Sunday, bringing us snow on Monday, but the 2nd wave of cold air, which is “Arctic” in nature arrives next weekend. This second wave of cold air will likely be the coldest air so far this winter.
