NOAA Doing Unique Research On Winter Weather
I’m sure you’ve seen and heard about hurricane research which uses an air plane to fly into the core or eye wall of a hurricane and study the pressure and velocity of the storm. Well now the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration is using the same kind of technology to study winter pattern. Planes like the one above are flying into the Pacific studying the Northern Atlantic Oscillation. This research will go a long way to helping us understand winter weather patterns and how they develop and ultimately improve our ability to forecast winter storms.
