It’s official!  The drought is over with for the WANE viewing area.   The image above is from the Drought Monitor, comparing the drought level from last Thursday, the 22nd of January, to the week before that, the 15th of January.  It’s not a huge change, but we go from a D1, or a “Moderate” drought across parts of Allen County, to only a D0 level, or “Abnormal” dry.  Any time you want to see the current level of the drought in our area, just click here.

Click here for a web article from Purdue University about the change in the drought level.

The drought is not expected to worsen any time soon, if any thing, we are going to see heavy rain and possibly some flooding by the end of the week.

Flood Watch through Wednesday Morning

A Flood Watch has been issued for the counties highlighted in green above.  In cased you missed it, Meteorologist Greg Shoup covered this on the previous blog entry here.
