One Storm Leads To Another…
Believe it or not the minor storm that we will experience will become a huge super storm by tomorrow and will dump 12 to 24 inches of snow over areas north of New York City through the New England states.
Here’s the set up: The storm moving through our region tonight (storm #1 on the model), with move out of the Great Lakes region and then make its way to New England. Mean while, a southern storm across the Atlantic will move up the Eastern Seaboard. These two storm merge together in a process which is known as ‘phasing”. This is the same process that happened with Hurricane Sandy and a land based cyclone.
The heaviest snow fall will occur near the New England coast where paralyzing snowfall is possible.
