Polar PlungeFebruary 16th, 2013 at 10:38 am by Nicholas Ferreri under Weather
Our annual Fort Wayne Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics is today!! As I mentioned this morning on First News, I’ll be the event’s emcee at Parkview Field when the the festivities begin a little before noon. It’s going to be a cold day for plunging, as it’s our coldest day in nearly 2 weeks! Temperatures are steady in the low-mid 20s with a northwesterly breeze between 5 and 15 mph. Plus, to add to the wintry feel of the day, there’s scattered snow falling across the region.
(If you’re reading this before noon…) You can still head out and take part in the plunge (or just root those on who are taking the cold dip!!). On-site registration is available and, to plunge, a minimum $75 donation to Special Olympics is required.
