October snowfall is rareOctober 22nd, 2013 at 11:29 am by Greg Shoup under Weather
October snowfall is rare around here but it has certainly happened over the past several years. The biggest storm you might remember in recent history was back on October 19th and 20th of 1989 when we had an eight inch snowfall! That was a very unusual storm and we really haven’t seen anything like that since. In fact even Halloween snow is very rare. Last year Fort Wayne Airport record a tenth of an inch and it has only snow on five Halloweens since 1912.
The scenario over the next 24 hours is now where close to bringing measurable snowfall to the area. In fact, our Furturecast model is taking the snowfall a little farther south in the last rendering.
