Saturday Night Snow Update

February 1st, 2014 at 8:41 pm by under Weather

As I sit here typing this post just after 8:30 pm….the transition from rain back to snow has taken place outside our WANE windows.  Snow has already been ongoing for the past few hours in spots northwest of Fort Wayne (LaGrange, Kendallville, Angola, Auburn) and the remaining rain to the southeast will change over to snow over the next few hours.

All the snow moves out overnight and temps drop to freezing and below.  So, with new snow on the ground and the day’s rainfall freezing up on area roads, be extra careful for slick spots if you have to drive in this weather.

The highest snow accumulations will be to the northwest of Fort Wayne where 2″-4″ of new accumulation is possible.  1″-3″ of new snow is possible from Fort Wayne to the southeast.

Your snow totals need revised again, we already have 5 1/2 inches in Bluffton and still coming down at a steady rate.

It’s after 8 am and we have 6 1/2 here in Van Wert and it’s still coming down. :)
